Goodbye 2015, Hello 2016!

Its the time of the year again when we all have to say goodbye to something... or someone. What's new anyway. While all people are making noises outside, watching the fireworks display and cheering for the coming year. Yet, I found myself again in my room trying to think what went wrong. Why am I still in the same room... alone? My family is with me. My mother and my siblings. Well I guess I'm not the only one with the same situation. Every new year, we always hope for something better. We always pray for a change. Its tiring at times. I always wonder if there is a mirror or a machine where we can see what the whole year has for us. And if something happened that we dont like, we will have the chance to make a different decision right from the very beginning. Oh well, I guess I better deal with it. After all, its what makes life more interesting... not being able to predict what tomorrow holds.

Bring it on 2016!

Shopping at Zalora

Online Fashion Shopping has been a trend nowadays. It's convenient for some people since they don't have to go out to the shop to get the latest fashion trends. But when doing an online shopping, risk is always a part of it. Yes, you can see the items but a lot of things need to be consider when shopping online. You need to do some research as how credible the online shop where you want to spend your money to. Security might not be a major problem now since most of the big online shops accept COD or Cash On Delivery.

Now to help you a bit, I'll share my experience with Zalora.

I've been seeing lots of Advertisements of Zalora almost everywhere and was long thinking of buying items there. Akala ko the items they are selling would be super expensive since most are branded. One night, I got bored and was browsing my Facebook page and there was a Zalora Ad looking at me. So I jumped in, and hit the gun! :) I ordered three items. The total price was about 1,400 pesos but because of some promo voucher, I only paid about 1,150 pesos. It was free shipping for orders above 995 so I also got that. It was a good deal indeed. I paid via credit card by the way and I'm ok with it. Zalora also accepts Cash On Delivery so you have nothing to worry when you don't have a credit card or not confident using it online.

Few minutes after I paid my order, I already got a confirmation text from Zalora. Wow! I was impressed, considering I ordered my items about midnight and I thought they were asleep during that time or at least operate during the working hours. In every progress of my orders, they texted me. And guess what? my orders were delivered to me in just a day! They call it Zalora Express Delivery. They even texted me the name of the person who will deliver it to me.

Time to check my items...

The packaging was done very well. For my items... uuhmmm, I guess this is where you really need to know your size. I had a problem with one of my orders. It was bigger than my size. I almost regret ordering it, thank goodness Zalora has a 30 Days Return... and yes for Free. You can either ask for an exchange or a refund. In my case, I had to exchange my item to a smaller size. I just had to filled-up their return form, dropped my item to LBC and that was it. I didn't pay anything at all. Just make sure to return your item in its original condition, with tag still intact. In their return rules, they said that processing of return items will take 7 business days so I already set my mind to wait for another 7 days. To my surprise, it only took them 2 days. My return item was also delivered via Zalora Express. And I got a perfect size this time.

Happy camper here! :)

NBI Clearance is one of the most sought after document required to almost every where. And yes, it sucks! You have to get up early, fall in line, and endure the slow process. You'll need a day to get it. If you're lucky, you'll even get a HIT and go back after a week to get your clearance. A HIT is the term used by NBI staff if the applicant has a namesake. So if you have a common name, you know what to expect.

With the numbers of people getting their NBI Clearances, the department has to do something. Thus, the online application came in. Last year, I got mine via online. I filled up a form online and printed it out. There was no online payment option yet. I had to go to an NBI outlet, with my printed online application form and continued the process there- from payment, data check, photo, and release (I got a HIT by the way so I had to go back after few days).

This year, I needed a new NBI Clearance again. I went online and about to do the same as last year, but the department has changed the process already. I read comments from people finding it hard and complicated so I thought of just going to an NBI outlet as early as possible and do it manually. Oh well, the thought of waking up 6am scared me so I just did the online application again. Here are the process I went through;

1. You will need to register online. For that, you will need a valid email address, create a password and start answering personal details. Make sure to remember your log-in details. You can not print anything yet from this point. It will only allow you to save your personal information. Once done, you will see a box that says, "Apply for Clearance". It will ask you whether its a NEW or a RENEWAL application. You need to provide a valid ID number (Ex. SSS- 012341247) as well. Simply click on, "I Agree" button and follow the instruction.

- Click NBI Online Application to start the process.

2. Select the NBI outlet where you want to do the application. Choose the date and the time (AM/PM). It will also ask whether the application is for Local or Abroad and the Payment Option.

The online payment option is not considerably convenient. At least in my case. I opted to pay via Online Banking, thinking it will be the easiest way for me. Well, I ended up cancelling my first application.

Payment via online banking requires you to pay to a Dragon Pay account, which has to be enrolled first. And for my bank to do that, it will need two or more days. I didn't want to do it. But if you are used to paying Dragon Pay via online and you don't have to enroll it to your online banking anymore, then its the perfect option for you. I gave the online application a second chance. I clicked on the Apply for Clearance button, and started again. This time, I opted to pay via Bayad Center/LBC. Once you clicked on your preferred payment option, it will give you a reference number along with an instruction on how to pay it. You have to take note of your reference number.

3. Once paid, you will need to wait a day or two to get a confirmation email from them. You can also log-in to your NBI online account, and check the status of your application. Click on your Transaction. From there, you will see whether it's still pending or paid. If its paid, you can already print the form and bring it with you to the nearest NBI outlet you choose.

I didn't receive a  confirmation email so I had to call the NBI number posted in their website after a day to confirm my payment. I logged in again to my account and it was changed to Paid status and ready for printing.
If you can not log-in anymore to your NBI online account or for whatever reason can not print the form, you don't have to freak out. Printing the application form is not necessary anymore although advisable. As long as you can still remember your reference number, you will be good. Bring the payment receipt with you as well if you have it.

Now that you're done with the online process, all you have to do is go to your preferred NBI outlet and complete the process. You can simply tell the guard that you applied online and he will direct you on what to do next.

UPDATE AS OF DEC. 2015
For some reasons, their website wasn't working for a while. I have just checked it now and its working, although with a different interface. You can still click on the link above and it will bring you to the NBI Online Application website.

You don't have to hassle yourself of paying it to LBC or some other partners. You can do it anyway but they accept payment right there as long as you registered online and have your reference number with you.
